The MoDot Commitment
MoDOT is committed to increasing the number of economically disadvantaged individuals working on the kcICON project. Up to $1.25 million has been designated for training programs and contractor incentives as part of this project.
Community roundtable meetings attended by MoDOT, Federal Highway Administration, Mid-America Regional Council, short-listed project teams, local contractors and union representatives, minority contractors and community groups, were held throughout 2007. The roundtable partners agreed to a Workforce Utilization Partnering Agreement August 13, 2007, that will increase the number of socially and economically disadvantaged individuals trained for work on the kcICON project.
A Workforce Utilization Advisory Committee was formed to draft a Request For Proposal to identify pre-apprenticeship training programs, and in December 2007, the committee recommended Full Employment Council to produce trainees ready for highway construction apprenticeships.
Notice
MoDOT does not hire or train individuals directly. If you are seeking training or employment in the heavy highway construction trades, please contact those trade unions directly or use job resources including the Full Employment Council at
